Wet process
Garments Wash
A general term for wash treatments carried out on the finished garment rather than on the fabric roll. It gives the garment a more lived-in look and a softer hand.

- How it works
- Finished garments are washed in industrial machines. Depending on the desired effect, the recipe may include detergents, enzymes, softeners or other products, at set times and temperatures. They are then rinsed, spun and dried.
- Result
- Soft hand and a natural, slightly worn look. Because the whole garment is washed, seams and edges get a softer, more even finish.
- Best applications
- Casual collections where the garment should feel comfortable and look worn-in from day one.
- Garments it is commonly used on
- T-shirts, sweatshirts, shirts, twill trousers and jeans, and linen garments.
- Care points and remarks
- Washing the whole garment can change measurements, colour and the look of buttons, labels and prints, so trims are chosen with the wash in mind.
